This large ring features an 18x13 oval stone with an Aum carved into the sides.

Aum is the sound of the universe, the confluence of all sounds and notes of nature. The three Hindi sounds a-u-m represent the sacred number 3, the three main deities, the three sacred scriptures, the three realms of reality. You may hear this as a chanted mantra, a means to connect to the universe whilst meditating. The symbol is a combination of the Hindu letters for the sound. The three-fold layer of the sound (Three is certainly a sacred number throughout the world!) was what created the world. It is said the cosmic vibration of the sound is what hold the universe together, down to the tiniest atom.
