Greek Key, Narrow
The Greek Key, or Meander, is a very ancient Mediterranean motif. It’s original name come from the river Meander, which has many twists and turns (hence our modern use of the word). It was a very important symbol in Ancient Greece, representing the eternal flow of all things. Many ancient temples and ruins were adorned with this motif. It also is said to have a connection to the mythical labyrinths of Crete. The Greek key is often given as a token of friendship, love and marriage. The corners represent the power of the number 4, the four cardinal points, the four elements, the four seasons, truly a symbol for eternity.
